A Different Kind Blog.

Hi everyone. My blog today is different. I have had a very busy week prepping for my Saturday Open Studio Event. I have not had a chance to research and write it about an artist this week.

I had planed to write about Damien Hirst. Damien is a Britsh artist and is quite amazing. He is very prolific. I most definitely well write about him another time. But in the meantime check out his Instagram page @damienhirst. I think you’ll like him.

What I have to say today is, this Saturday I am having my first Open Studio Event for my friends and family to come to see my work that, I have been working so hard on. And maybe puchase something. 😉. I have about 50 pieces of art, of various subject’s. I hope everyone like what they see.

For the last 6 years I have been working toward this and hopefully greater things. I went back to school and received my Visual Arts Certificate from the University of Alberta, with distinction. I have continued to paint ever since.

Last fall I started to work on my website and as a beginner it took a litttle time, learning as I went along. Now the blogging is happening, along with the artwork. The last 9-10 months have been quite exciting for me and I have learned so much.

I am also in the St Albert Art Walk the first Thursday of each month, July 7th, August 4th, and September 1st. The Whyte Avenue Art Walk, I will be at, July 8th to 10th. Location to be confirmed.

I have another exciting thing, my artwork will be on display and sale at the Blue Chair Cafe, 9624-76 Ave NW, Edmonton, date to confirm this coming week. https://bluechair.ca/ The Blue Chair Cafe is a locally owned restaurant, they graciously support local artists and musicians. So please support a small locally business.

Well, that is it for today and I promise next week will be a very exciting blog about Georgia O’Keeffe. I am sure I will find out something very interesting, I always do!

Keep Well, Diana
